Does anyone else think this song is underrated?
"'Cause I've been alone
My faith turned to stone
Still there's something in you that I believe in"
"'Cause you haunt my nights when I don't know where my life should go"
Beautiful!

I definately think this song is underated. Its in my top 10 songs. The music is awesome and it gets to me sometimes when I listen to it, and the lyrics are absolutely beautiful.

I'm with you on that. i wish to see it live one day. i think tony has given it props before somewhere on this board.....
I belive I am sorrect in saying there were no mirage guitars. I believe all of eric valentines guitars were used. The song Good for you- also has some of kevins best work on it.

Good For You is a classic and no one really gives it much love, I think it is a kick ass song!!!

"Good For You" is a great song and doesn't get as much praise as it deserves. I've said this before, but even though I'd love to hear the song live and bask in it's great energy and glory I still think Stephan would ruin it because he'd end up fucking up the lyrics and the vocals.
The song is very, very demanding on anyone's voice, muchless Stephan's. I mean does anyone remember when he used to just not even attempt the high parts in "Faster" and just do this really wierd screaming thing?
But MAYBE, and that's a big maybe, they could try and pull off some sort of acoustic version.

Yeah this song kind of hides in the 3eb catalog. Definitely a gem. I would love to hear some sort of acoustic version of some sort or even the real deal. If Stephan can sing Standing Up For You once, he can sing Good For You once. I don't think it's nearly as tough as SUFY. The screaming part at the end is my favorite.

Good For You is a great track. Outstanding lyrics. Heavy, dark riffs. Superb. It's just kinda lost in the shuffle in the second half of the S/T. So it's definitely underrated.
If it were released today as a "new" 3eb song I think it'd be universally hailed as brilliant and a return to form.

Good For You is truly a hidden gem on S/T. To hear this song live would be absolutely amazing but i'm sure by now SJ doesn't remember the words.
EDIT: I stand corrected. They rocked it out at Columbus, even if it wasn't the entire song that medley is awesome!

I think Kevin's best guitar solo is on this one. It's haunting like the rest of the song & it brings everything to an end perfectly.

Exactly. It's not flashy but it sure gives you the chills.

I love this song and echo the remarks about the solo. It's one of his best to date.

This song is about too universal an idea not to be widely well-regarded. And as is usually the case with 3eb, that theme is explored through dazzling lyrics. For the second half of the song Kevin owns, too.
Plus, would it make any sense to skip over it considering its cosmic placement in the S/T? The answer is no, kiddies.
P.S. - Random, but can anyone explain to the proper use and significance of this smiley: :wooby: ?

See, your join date explains that one. ;)
It's the personal icon of Ruby aka Wooby, formerly of SJ.com. She still graces us with her presence from time to time.

I remember being younger, and not really liking "good for you"; maybe because it's one of their darker songs, maybe because I didn't understand the content at the ripe age of 9 (close to your pierce, I go wild and fierce?...hmmm)
now though, it's most definitely a favorite. the tone of the guitar is just something you don't really hear often: right before the chorus--there's this kind of melodically screeching build up, and it's just perfect.

Does anyone like SJ's vocals better in the pre-'97 demo version than the record version? I can't exactly put my finger on it, but there's something missing in the record version that was most definitely present in the demo.

"I feel you cross my mind in disarray/Intoxicated ricochet" is one of the best moments in any 3eb song both lyrically and musically. Kevin and Arion own this song all the way through, but that part in particular is simply awesome.
Edit: I also love the way Burning Man and this song bleed together as practically one.

I agree.
I also love the "close to your pierce, I grow wild and fierce, but still I let you be, I feel you next to me...."

great song very underated, "Burning Man" is a great compliment to it. The whole album is a masterpiece, the only thing that would have made that album any better is "Tattoo of the Sun" which if you were in Japan it was perfect

TOTS has some fantastic lyrics, but IIRC the band didn't think it "fit" with the S/T.. shame, a lot of people would have been glad to know it.
