The description says it's a 100 page book. I completely agree that the amount is ridiculous for this book. There is no reason it needs to be that expensive.

for that price it better at least play a MIDI of the new songs or something when I turn the pages and have some popouts of stephan's tophat, the band members standing on stage, and puke flying out of someone's mouth at the after parties

Well, I'm assuming it's probably a pretty small pressing, so naturally it seems like it would be a little more expensive than a normal book. Whether it's worth the price is another story.
The link came from James, I'm just passing on information.
Plus, I'd better get a free one for advertising dammit.

That is way too expensive. Here's hoping the price will come down so us po' folk can get our hands on it.
For 100 pages full color I'd pay maybe 20.00 softcover, 30.00 hardcover.

Well I bought it, should be here in a couple of days...I'll let y'all know what's up with it and if it's worth your money. After reading all the posts about the show I missed last night, I felt the need to grab onto anything. So I ordered the book and hopefully it'll cheer me up a little bit. :-) Anyways, like I said - when I get it, I'll let you know.

I'm hesitant about putting my credit card down for anything that hasn't been printed yet. Once it prints and ships, then I'll purchase a copy. I wouldn't have a problem pre-ordering from a site like Amazon, but I don't know much about this website, to be honest.

I think I can answer that question for you. Everything related to 3eb must have a publish/release date incorrectly announced at some point. So they figured why not just pick a date that was actually before the two dates of the shows. The sad thing is that people still got excited when they saw March 9.

Wow. The Third Eye Blind online fan community is a bunch of assholes. To think that people who don't know who Third Eye Blind are come here as a reference point for research - a point highly debatable, but possible nonetheless. What are they going to think of the hostility and the idiocy of 90% of the constituancy?
To back up my claim, I referred someone here the other day who said she'd never heard of Third Eye Blind. That's okay. Third Eye Blind isn't Led Zeppelin, or Pink Floyd, or hell..The Carpenters. And if you want to tell me the Carpenters weren't huge, remember they played the White House. Twice.
So, for the time being, until my rep level returns to 0, you guys are the INCREDIBLE TOOLS.

This Blurb thing is an interesting idea, though. All those people who say they want to write a book as some sort of life goal, and all they have to do is go to this website. Not officially published, but at least it's bound. You could just make it for yourself, and have a professional-looking scrapbook, then rip off your family members. We could make a TVCY Blurb book, sell it to outsiders, and give the money to Adam to run the site. I'm just taking up space now.

I'll take up space with you. Wouldn't that be hillarious? "The Secrets of Third Eye Blind...the lyrics to In The Background, The Freshmen and More!!" Sell it and then fund the site. Imagine what we could do ... rule the world!
Anyway. I'm wondering about this book. We've seen a lot of great pictures posted up here, I don't think they're Albanese's photos...so I wonder who took them, and if they're any good. I'd assume that they are. I just wonder who it is that set this up and is trying to get us to buy their book. Has anyone heard anything on this at all? Probably not, or they would have said something here. Here's to hoping at least.

Whoa, have you seen pictures that will be in the books, or are you referencing TVCwires' pictures that they've posted? Yeah, I wonder who set it up, too, especially since it has the band's approval. Well, I am not worrying, if it is a sham, and the person is trying to take our money, then just call Visa or yoiur credit card company, they will reimburse you the money and then go after whoever took it. So I am not worrying, but I still hope that I get my book sometime soon. I would love to have this memory you know :)

And... we have a preview! It's below the cover on main page. My book says it's "processing".
I don't mean to be negative, but the Wikipedia cut and paste is a little cheesy. For the $70+ I'm paying, I'd like some original words. I wouldn't be completely opposed to captions, either.
But... they did say the pictures would look better in the actual book, so it's good! Means we'll probably get it by the end of the month!

Fuck, I can't stop spending money on this fucking band. I'm in two of those pictures in the previews. What a great keepsake... fuckity fuck fuck. Hmmm.... I'll wait to hear your review of the books b/f I totally put $$ in.
The cover and layout blow chunks... which makes me cringe to know I could spend $60 on something that is so poorly designed. But oh well.... I might get over it.

haha i think i see you in the pictures. black tank top with a red band in your hair?
the layout DEFINATELY sucks sucks sucks. it's absolutely poorly designed.
the cover, on the other hand, i kinda dig. granted, it doesn't have the whole band, but it does have tony playing guitar and the famous "thirdeyeblind" lights in the background. the title portion sucks...i wonder if that's the font they'll end up using...
meh. had i gone to the concert, i would without a doubt buy this. however, not having gone, it would bea gigantic waste of money to see pictures of people i don't even know in poorly designed square-spaces layout.

I know! I got so excited to get into the second Fillmore show while they were playing 1000 Julys (I didn't have tickets) that I bought all the 3eb merchandise, from the hoodie right down to the keychain/bottle opener. Then Stephen's print, then this stupid book (that doesn't have my picture in the preview, I hate being short... I was waiting there the whole goddamn day!).
Oh, and you should buy it, because Joe looks adorable in that picture with Tony.

Probably! I must have seen you, then, I was the girl who half jumped the divider thing and picked them up, and then my friends were like OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE TOUCHING THAT!!!! And told me to hold it by one end or drop it... so I tried explaining that it was those little red panties slide up around the belly face down on the mattress one... but they didn't know what I was talking about until someone (I assume you or your friend) said that they'd picked them up from a dollar store so they were not used, and that I could keep them. They gave me a really hard time about that. It's not like I wear them, geez.

What, are you stalking me????!!!!
;)
I now understand why the layout is so shitty, to get your books printed with Blurb, you have to use their layout software and it's kinda primitive/for design laymens who probably don't know Quark or InDesign. I've had fun playing around with it though, might throw a book together and get it printed just for fun. It's pretty cool stuff for people who like to make books (i.e. me).

Well, I got a soft cover, just because I tend to bend books when I am looking a them, and I didn't want to ruin the hardcover....plus it really doesn't matter to me :) But yes, there is shipping. The soft cover cost me a total of $69.59, with shipping. Hope that helps :)

Yeah the website said both nights, but the book cover only says the 13th. So I'm gonna assume the pics are only from the 13th.
There were no photographers other than Stephen Albeaneese on the 14th. There were however 10000000 the 13th.

The book is pretty cool. It is all pictures. The first 15 pages don't represent what is actually in the book. Most of it is pictures of the band, and there are some really good pictures in it. Some of Tony rockin' out, and some with his son in it as well. Those are great. Seems like they didn't put many pictures of Brad in it, which I found odd. Most of the pics, are of Stephan and Tony, more of Stephan. Overall, it is a cool book. Not sure if it was worth the $70 I paid for it, but the pictures are great and I got to see myself in it...which I found great. All in all, no regrets purchasing it...it is great memorabilia :) So if $70 isn't that bad to spend on memories for yourself, you should get it!!

Yusuf, if you look at the .pdf preview on the site you will see you are in the book.
Though it seems from jnellybelly's review those preview pages have fan pictures, but the rest of the book is of the band. I'm still up in the air about if I want to buy this... I might just download the preview .pdf and call it a day. ;)

Yeah, there are a few more pics with the audience...a really nice black and white one also, but most of the rest of the fan pictures are from far away, like during the confetti and stuff, and you can't really see faces too clearly. It is still pretty cool though!! :)

I just got mine, too. it's much smaller than I originally thought, I thought it would be great coffee table material, but i don't think so anymore. She was right, only the first 15 pages are of the fans, except for maybe another 1-2 inside the book. It's ok. I'm glad I spent the money since the money is going to charity, but I don't know if I'd pick it up if I had seen it first and the money wasn't going to charity. It does have some great shots, I'll give it that.

Exactly, the out of focus bugs me as well. Also, whoever did this does 4-8 pictures on some pages, all of Stephan. I like the idea, but I'm not sure that it works in this format. I'm still bummed out about the size. It reminds me of a workbook from when I was in biology class or something.

Well, I think it's what I'm gonna ask my parents to get me for my Birthday which I will be paying 20 bucks for since they will only spend $50 on my brothers and I. I think it will be worth it, I'm glad that the money is going to charity, it makes it seem more worth while.
My exact thoughts were "Shitty" before I even read DharmaBum's post. Like Petria, I somehow expected it to be larger, or at least have more pictures. It seems like AsparaEvents put every single picture he/she took into this thing to take up space, because several pages are basically the same picture over and over. As far as quality goes, it’s no Stephen Albanese production, but it’s not hideous, either. It’s just not what I was expecting for $73.58.
Other thoughts: Though it’s probably not worth bringing up, it feels really bizarre to see Leo in the full band personal pictures. It couldn’t be helped, and I have nothing against anyone, but it really, really feels like something’s missing, and maybe that’s one of the reasons the book feels largely incomplete for me. As jnellybelly said, there aren’t many pictures of Brad. As a comparison, there are 35 pictures that include Brad or his drums, while 51 pictures include Leo or his bass. I don’t mean to be ragging on this issue, but when Tony’s on the cover and Stephan’s on the left sleeve, shouldn’t Brad - rather than a temporary member - be on the right sleeve, since he’s a band member? Anyway, the author either didn’t have much knowledge of the band’s lineup, or was a little tactless.
If I was in the pictures (which I wasn’t), I would still buy the book despite its poor quality; however, if not, I’d go with the pictures that we ourselves have posted. I’m considering this purchase a charitable donation (contributed almost entirely in self-interest), and I do hope the money is really going to charity, because there aren’t any statements on the Blurb site, 3eb’s site, or inside the book indicating that would be the case.
If nothing else, at least it’s nice to have a physical copy of some pictures, and the ones with Joe are unique and well done. I don’t know of any other 3eb books, per se, so it’s cool to have this, and say - oh look I was there! or show your family and friends, okay, this is where they’re playing “Ode To Maybe” and this is the really awesome chandelier I was telling you about! instead of pulling out the computer and saying, I know I saw it somewhere on TVCY. So... the end to my long review is - I’m disappointed but am trying in vain to be positive about the book, and I want the DVD to come out now.

I don't think it's return-able. I do miss Arion greately, but the book was touted as pictures of the Fillmore show. He wasn't there, so I guess I can see the logic of him not being in the book. One shot would have been nice, maybe something about how he's sorely missed or something. But no, there's not anything.

The book is called "Third Eye Blind: Live at the Fillmore 3/13 - 3/14" and accordingly contains pictures of Third Eye Blind live at the Fillmore 3/13 - 3/14 (maybe not the 14th but that's irrelevant).
If Arion wasn't playing with Third Eye Blind live at the Fillmore 3/13 - 3/14, then I don't see any injustice in him not being in the book. The book's not implying he's "not part of the band", just that he wasn't playing with Third Eye Blind live at the Fillmore 3/13-3/14.

Well, do you guys think I should get it? I think I will, I mean, I can just sell it on ebay for like $45 if I don't like it.

Just recieved mine the other day. For those of you who are a little unsure of getting it, I dont know what to tell you exactly. It appears that all the pics are from the 13th, so unless you were there like i was, it's probably more of a personal thing. but as for me, even if i wasnt there i have this need to have these things anyway. i would have bought it even if i wasnt there because it is the only book that is offered, and has been offered since the small book i have from the bonfire tour. other than it just being strictly memories, it is definately a collector's item, rare pics of a special event. and professionally done also.
plus its the only thing we actually have that is up to date, hard copy wise.

I have a choice, either keep my 20 bucks and get $50 from my parents for my birthday and save it to buy and Les Paul kit or get the book. What do you think I should do? Because I just got my first guitar in Feb. and I'm still learning. I don't know, I can always just use my money from next year for the guitar, but I still would like to know what you think.

I finally got my book too! Granted some of the pictures are pretty cool, I'm a bit disappointed in it. Was it worth $70, probably not, but I'm a sucker and it will remind me of the fantastic time I had at the shows.

Well, I ordered mine in the two day shipping. Hopefully it will actually come in that amount of time, lol.

i dunno why you left it up to me to make your decission, but um, alright... if it's worth thinking about and putting up against a guitar, why not get the guitar then? its your money not mine
why ask my opinion if you ordered it anyway??

I just got my first guitar like three or four months ago. If I save the Christmas money I get and save my birthday money next year, I can get the guitar kit then. I'm not even sure if I'm gonna end up sticking with playing guitar. But it's too late now.

I saw the book and it is really cool. I'm definitely going to shell out the $70 some odd dollars to have it. It's a really nice keepsake.

I got the book today, I did get to look at it because my mom has to wrap it. I'll probably get to see it tomorrow, but as it looks from the package, it's not worth $70 unless there are some really nice photos in it.

Kristen, I thought you were maybe just being sarcastic since everone has said it looks like crap, but i got it yesterday, and it was a lot better than i was thinking it would be after reading everyone's responses about it. The thing is ACE! Sure, theres no reading, and sure it's not worth even close to $70, but it's damn cool.

lol Matt! No, I was actually breaking character and being sincere for once! I still think the layout of the book was kinda crap (that one page where the two photos aren't cropped to the same height - ARGH!) but lemme tell you, it really looks nice once you get the band to sign it in silver sharpie.

I just opened mine today. The photos are pretty cool, the book with shipping and everything is probably only worth about $50 at the most. But if your not poor, unlike me, then you might as well get it. But yeah, it's pretty nice.
